Preparation

Make sure that the device has been set up according to the previous instructions in the Tuya App.

Install the Tuya Skill in your Alexa App.

Log in to the skill using the same access data you use in the Tuya app on your mobile phone.
This is necessary so that both apps can access the same database.

Creating Scenes in the Tuya Smart Home App

To use voice commands later, two scenes must be created in the app.

Scene "Turn on irrigation"

  • Open the Tuya Smart Home App.

  • Go to "Scene" at the bottom and tap "+" in the top right to create a new scene.

  • Select "Tap here to run".

  • Tap the "+" next to "Then" and select "Control single device".

  • Select your irrigation system.

  • Set the state from "Manual off" to "on".

  • Tap "Next" and then "Save".

Scene "Turn off irrigation"

  • Repeat the steps above, but set the state in step 6 to "off".

Creating an Alexa Routine

For Alexa to execute your scenes via voice command, routines must also be created in the Alexa App.

Routine "Irrigation on"

  • Open the Alexa App.

  • Go to "More" → "Routines" and tap the "+" to create a new routine.

  • Under "When this happens", select "Voice command" and enter, for example:
    Irrigation on

  • Tap "Add action" → "Smart Home" → "Control scene".

  • Select the previously created scene "Turn on irrigation".

  • Tap "Save".

Routine "Irrigation off"

  • Create a second routine with the voice command
    Irrigation off

  • Link it to the scene "Turn off irrigation".

Using Alexa Voice Control

You can now conveniently control your irrigation system via voice command:

"Alexa, irrigation on" → turns the system on
"Alexa, irrigation off" → turns the system off

Tip: If voice control does not work:

  • Check if the skill is correctly linked to your account.

  • Check if the scenes in the Tuya App have been set up correctly.

  • Make sure that the corresponding Alexa routines have been created – without them, voice control will not work.
