Installation of the 1-zone irrigation system

Preparation

We recommend the official Tuya Smart App for all essentials products:

Tuya Smart App 

1: Reset WLAN Repeater & put it into pairing mode

1. Press and hold the button on the WLAN repeater while plugging it into the socket.
2. Keep the button pressed until the LED lights up continuously, then release.
3. The LED will quickly flash after a short time — the repeater is reset and in pairing mode.

2: Add WLAN Repeater in the App

1. Open Tuya App → tap + in the top right corner → Add Device.
2. Enter and select "Water valve controller (Wi-Fi)" in the search bar.
3. Select 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, enter Wi-Fi password and tap Next.
4. Confirm that the LED is flashing quickly → App connects the device.
5. After successful connection, tap Complete.

3: Reset Irrigation Unit

1. Press and hold the button on the irrigation unit while inserting the batteries.
2. LED lights up red/white — keep the button pressed until the LED only flashes red, then release — Reset successful.

4: Put Irrigation Unit into Pairing Mode & add it in the App

1. Press and hold the button until the LED flashes white quickly — the unit is now in pairing mode.
2. In the Gateway, tap Manage Devices → Add More Devices.
3. Select "Water valve controller".
4. Confirm that the LED is flashing white quickly → App connects the device.
5. After successful connection, tap Complete.

5. Create Irrigation Schedules

1. Open the app & select "Schedule"
2. Create Plan A, B or C
3. Adjust settings:
• Start time
• Duration of irrigation
• Days & Intervals
4. Save & activate

6. Manual Operation

1. Open the app & select the irrigation system
2. Activate/deactivate manual control
3. Set start time & duration

7. Accessories (optional)

• Soil sensor: Measures soil moisture and optimizes irrigation.
• WLAN Repeater: Boosts the signal if the system is too far from the router.

8. Tips & Hints

• Place the WLAN repeater close to the irrigation system.
• If the system doesn't respond, remove and reinsert the batteries.
• App control also works when the smartphone is not nearby.
• Note for FRITZ!Box users: If the WLAN repeater cannot connect, activate the option "Set radio channel settings automatically (recommended)" in the FRITZ!Box WLAN settings. Then restart the pairing process. If setup fails in the Essentials App, select the Pairing Mode there. This can improve the connection with some FRITZ!Box models.
