Wall switch

A wall switch is a switch built into the wall of a room or house. Switches that you can use to turn the lights or heating on and off, operate blinds, or open and close the garage door. Wall switches are available as surface-mounted or flush-mounted versions.

Smart home wall switches transmit control commands wirelessly to the connected devices. Smart switches can also be operated via an app. This means that instead of walking to the switch, you simply pull out your smartphone – no matter where you are – and issue the desired command (e.g., turn on the heating) in the smart home app. Conventional wall switches can be retrofitted with corresponding smart home solutions.

Important to note: Smart wall switches should actually be called wall push buttons, because with most models, you don't flip a switch, but press a button. However, in everyday life, the term "switch" has become common.

In the wesmartify online shop, you can get two types of wall switches, both of which are Homematic IP compatible: a 2-way wall switch and a 6-way wall switch.

The 2-way wall switch Allows you to program two different switching scenarios. For example, button 1 can be assigned the "Leave Home" switching scenario. When the button (or the button in the app) is pressed, all integrated devices obey your command: The alarm system activates, all lights in the house turn off, and the heating lowers the temperature to 18 degrees. For button 2, for example, you can select the "After Work" scenario and specify that at the touch of a button, the connected sound system should play your favorite radio station, the heating in the living room should rise to a comfortable temperature, and the lights should dim.
