The Q-Label is a quality mark for smoke detectors. To receive the Q-Label, smoke detectors must meet two requirements:
- You need the CE mark. This indicates that the product has been tested by the manufacturer and that it meets all EU safety, health, and environmental requirements.
- They must be certified according to the strict technical guideline vfdb 14-01. The testing must be carried out by an independent, accredited testing institute.
The vfdb 14-01 guideline stipulates, among other things, a service life of at least ten years for the permanently installed battery and specifies shock and impact resistance. The guideline also includes requirements for electromagnetic compatibility and resistance to humidity and temperature fluctuations.
