Sustainability is said to occur when resources used are recovered or replaced in the same way. A concrete example: In forests, only as many trees may be felled as can grow back equally within a defined period of time—then the forest is managed sustainably.

In everyday language, however, we use the term sustainability more loosely and generally refer to environmental protection and resource conservation: A light bulb is sustainable if it uses as little electricity as possible. Garden irrigation is sustainable if it requires as little water as possible, etc.

In our online shop, you'll find a wide range of smart home products that help you live more sustainably (e.g., by saving electricity, water, or heating energy). A practical side effect: These smart components also bring more convenience to your everyday life through automated control of appliances.
