A high lumen value of around 250 lumens per square meter is advisable for general lighting in a home office, craft corner, or even the kitchen. In other words, anywhere you want to see details clearly. Fewer lumens are needed for cozy lighting accents—for example, lighting above the couch.
A concrete example: Let's say your kitchen is 15 square meters. Your lighting should achieve a total of 15*250 = 3,750 lumens.
