A light source is an object that emits light. A distinction is made between natural and artificial light sources. Natural light sources shine without human intervention. An example of this is the sun. Artificial light sources, on the other hand, are created by humans. Lamps, for example, are artificial light sources, as are the lights on smartphones, candles, and lasers.
In the smart home, light sources can be expanded into intelligent lighting systems: They can be controlled via smartphone, switch on and off automatically at programmed times, react to presence in combination with motion detectors and adapt the lighting to the outside light conditions.
