The Internet of Things is a technology that allows machines, devices, or systems to be virtually connected. Without user intervention, the devices are able to communicate with other devices (i.e., exchange data) and initiate actions. This makes it possible for processes and tasks to be processed automatically without further intervention.
The smart home is a subset of the Internet of Things (IoT): household appliances, lights, and other devices are interconnected and can execute commands automatically. For example, you can specify that the shutters should automatically lower every day at sunset or that the outdoor lights should turn on automatically at 9 p.m. sharp.
