You can use mini fan heaters anywhere there's an outlet. Simply plug them in and direct the warming air directly to your feet! Fan heaters with smart home functionality are especially practical, as you can program them as you please.

Are you already wearing thick socks, but your feet still get cold as soon as you sit down? Don't worry, you're not alone with this problem. There are all sorts of clever home remedies that are supposed to help with cold feet – from massages and exercises to drinks or creams that boost circulation. But let's be honest: Who wants to start massaging their feet at the office? Or rub their feet with some kind of cream at home while they're sitting comfortably with friends?

Mini fan heater warms feet instantly

The simplest solution for warm feet is a mini fan heater, which is placed in front of or next to your feet and provides pleasant warmth. These small heaters are now available in a variety of designs. When purchasing one, you should consider the following six criteria:

1. Size and weight of the fan heater

If you plan to use the fan heater in multiple locations or discreetly place it under a table, it should be really small and handy. As a general rule, it should fit in a bag and weigh less than 2 kilograms.

2. Performance of the fan heater

If you want to warm your feet quickly, you need a mini fan heater with a boost function. This means a fan heater with high power consumption. A unit with only 500 watts of heat output won't satisfy you. Units with 2,000 watts of heat output are better. These cost a bit more than lower-power units, but they also provide that extra heat boost.

3. Temperature sensor

Make sure the mini fan heater is equipped with a temperature sensor. Only then can you be sure that the device maintains your desired temperature.

4. Ceramic heating element

Before purchasing, check whether the mini fan heater uses a simple resistance wire or a high-quality ceramic heating element. A major advantage of ceramic heating elements: The fan heater doesn't develop an unpleasant burnt odor, as is often the case with fan heaters with resistance wire.

5. Swivel function (oscillation)

Fan heaters with a swivel function (also called oscillation) are particularly convenient. When the swivel mode is activated, the fan rotates from left to right, distributing heat evenly to both feet. Fan heaters without a swivel function only blow heat to a single spot.

6. Smart home function

The icing on the cake is the smart home function integrated into the mini fan heater. Smart mini fan heaters can also be integrated into your home Wi-Fi network and programmed and controlled via your smartphone. This works as follows: You download the app that matches the mini fan heater, add the device to the app, and set temperature and time profiles.

A concrete example: Let's say your fan heater is in your home office. You can set the app to generate a constant temperature of 23 degrees Celsius from Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. (i.e., exactly at the times when you're sitting at your desk). Once programmed, the device will turn itself on and off automatically. Alternatively, you can forgo this programming and conveniently turn the device on and off as needed using your smartphone, thus avoiding the hassle of crawling around under the desk.
